I believe the right experience can bring a family closer, help a young person see what’s possible, and give a community something meaningful to build on.
A note from Tema
More than a trip. A chance to connect.
As a mother and a woman who believes in the strength of family and community, I created Melanated Adventurz to make room for experiences that stay with us long after we return home.
Through family legacy journeys, college tours, youth enrichment, retreats and group travel, I bring people together to learn, celebrate their stories and imagine what comes next. I also work with schools, recreation departments, nonprofits, churches and community partners to shape experiences around the people they serve.
One purpose connects our three experience collections: strengthening Black families across generations. Melanated Legacy celebrates family and heritage; Melanated Moms creates room for restoration and sisterhood; and Melanated Minds expands possibilities for Black youth. Through College Gurl Mom, I also share reflections on the college parenting journey.
My hope is simple: that every family and every young person feels inspired to dream bigger than their ZIP CODE.
